Visual culture studies is a contemporary, emerging interdisciplinary field that employs a variety of approaches to analyze and interpret the contemporary images. This course will explore the mutual influences among modern visual culture, history of art, cultural history, and visual sociology. By integrating these approaches, we aim to cultivate our students’ research and critical horizons of visual art, while understanding the social and historical significances of contemporary images.
