課程概要(中文)

 1. 本課程以編年史的形式從古至今循溯西方藝術之脈絡，給予學生一個西方藝術通史之快速綜覽。 2. 本課程將藝術及藝術創作的本質視為具有原動力，被其周圍的觀念所影響的行為。故除對作品之創作、思維和最終成品的基本理解外，也著重於理解這些作品如何表現文化，而被納入歷史之書寫。 3. 第一學期介紹舊石器及新石器時代、史前與原始文化、埃及、美索不達米亞與美錫尼、古希臘與羅馬、早期基督教藝術、羅曼藝術、哥德藝術；第二學期介紹文藝復興與矯飾主義、巴洛克與洛可可、新古典與浪漫主義。

課程概要(英文)

 1. This course is designed in chronicle for students to enter into western art history in a quick review. 2. This course regards art and art creation essence as a primitive power, a behavior influenced by surrounded ideas. Thus, in addition to understanding art creation, thinking and its final work, this course also focuses on how these works displaying cultures collected into historical writing. 3. The first semester introduces the history of old and new stone ages, prehistory and primitive culture, Egypt, Mesopotamian , Mycena, ancient Greece and Rome, early Christian art, Romance Art, Gothic art; and the second semester introduce the Renaissance, Mannerism, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassic and Romanticism.
